We believe one of the things that makes our winery so great is our team. Everyone here feels like family to us and that’s not because they’re good at their jobs. That’s part of it and they are all great at it. But the family feel comes from them being good people and because they love what they do as much as we do. We have team members who work on the vineyard and farm. Team members who keep our accounting nice and tidy. Team members who take care of you when you come in for a tasting. Team members who handle bottling and packaging. The list goes on and on and we can’t for you to meet some of the valuable people who help make Habersham Winery such a special place to us.
Today we want to introduce you to Barbara Couillard.
Habersham Winery: What is your job here at the winery?
Barbara: I am the Tasting Room Manager/Buyer.
HW: How long have you been working at the winery?
Barbara: I have been at the winery for over two years. August 1st was my anniversary. I came in for a one – two day a week position and took over a retiring manger’s position instead. I became the buyer in June of 2015. I love it!
HW: What is your favorite part about working here?
Barbara: I love coming to work everyday! The people, the atmosphere and the challenge of finding what works best to sell. Also I have enjoyed learning all about the process of wine making!
HW: What is your favorite thing about living in North Georgia?
Barbara: We have been vacationing up here from Orlando, Florida for over 23 years. We knew when it was time to downsize and change our lifestyle and retire this was where we wanted to be. The mountains, weather, people, artists and all around general laid back feeling is exactly what we were looking for!
HW: Where is your favorite place to eat? To shop?
Barbara: I really don’t have a single favorite place to eat. I try to go to all the local joints as much as possible. One place for breakfast that we go to every Sunday morning is the Sautee Trail Cafe. Great little place!
HW: On your day off, where you most likely to be?
Barbara: On my days off my husband and I like to go antiquing, exploring all the little quaint towns or just hang out at our house on our patio we just built ourselves, marveling in all the wildlife and views from our five acres. Can I say again how happy we are up here in N.E. Georgia?!? I feel blessed.
